Privacy coin Monero XMR's developers were alerted to a potentially serious bug by a Redditor describing merely a "hypothetical" scenario. Monero's developers recognized the seriousness of such a vulnerability and applied a patch recently to what they called the "burning bug." The bug in the crypto's codebase would have allowed the attacker to double spend or destroy (burn) the digital funds in an organization's hot wallet.
