Well-known economist Mohamed Aly El-Erian recently said that bitcoin (BTC) is still "a buy", but only at around $5,000. El-Erian noted that bitcoin has been overpriced because many investors were expecting a very high rate of adoption for the pseudonymous cryptocurrency. While bitcoin may not meet the expectations of many, it will still have its place as a means of peer-to-peer (P2P) exchange of value, the Egyptian American economist said.
