John McAfee-Backed BitFi Hardware Wallet Is Not A “High-Integrity” Device, Says Security Expert

The BitFi hardware wallet has been getting a lot of attention lately, with a number of Twitter users claiming that they’ve gained “root access” to the wallet and therefore have compromised its “fortress-like” security. John McAfee along with BitFi’s developers have been heavily promoting the wallet as “unhackable”, however a security consultant says it’s not a “high-integrity” device, but rather a “stripped-back, low-end Android phone.”The John McAfee-backed BitFi hardware wallet has been heavily promoted as “unhackable” due to its “fortress-like security” by the device’s developers and the eccentric crypto enthusiast. However, some suggest that the “impenetrable” $120 wallet may not be as secure as McAfee and the BitFi team claim it is.
