A spokesperson for Target said a Bitcoin scam Tweet purportedly sent after hackers gained control of the account actually came after the cybercriminals managed to get control over a marketing vendor’s account to send out the fraudulent Tweet. Hackers have seen success over the past few weeks in posting malicious crypto scam links from social media profiles of prominent people and companies.
