It has been called “a horrible idea” by a security expert, but West Virginia will still be introducing a blockchain-based mobile voting app to make it easier for military personnel stationed abroad to cast their votes. Reportedly, after a successful pilot phase, the voting app may be used by all of West Virginia’s 55 counties during the upcoming midterm elections in November. Each county will ultimately decide whether they want to use the app.
