ETH blocked in China?

China's Great Firewall, a tool used to prohibit Chinese people from using services such as Google and Facebook, pointed to the main discoverer of the Ethereum's blockade (ETH).

According to GreatFire's non-profit monitoring organization, China allegedly blocked one of the most popular ETH block browser, Etherscan, in October 2019. From December 3, Etherscan's domain remained unavailable from IP addresses in Mainland China, according to Coindesk's publication on December 3.

While the Etherscan blockade was largely unnoticed, company CEO Matthew Tan reportedly said that Etherscan had noticed the action "within the last 3 months," reports Coindesk.

According to GreatFire, who is collecting a database of websites blocked by Great Firewall, Etherscan was allegedly still intact and "censorship was not detected" from August 17, 2019.

The Ethereum lock browser was completely blocked until October 29, 2019, while the exact duration of the block is not reported by GreatFire.
