Dynamic growth of crypto ATMs

In 2013, the world's first ever Bitcoin ATM debuted when Robocoin placed the machine in Vancouver café. Allowing clients to trade Bitcoin for cash and vice versa, the ATM saw $10,000 in BTC on the first day.

Now that we are one month away from the end of 2020, the estimated number of crypto ATMs around the world that allow customers to buy and sell Bitcoin (BTC) and other altcoins for cash is about 11,665 according to CoinATMRadar.

This reflects an extraordinary increase in the number of crypto ATMs compared to the previous year. The number of cryptographic ATMs at the end of 2019 was estimated at 6372, and now, when we are close to saying goodbye to 2020, there is almost an 80% increase.

CoinATMRadar also shows that the number of crypto ATMs is constantly increasing on average by 23 machines per day, i.e. by almost one new ATM per hour.

The United States recorded the fastest increase in the number of ATM crypto machines in the world, and the largest share in the number of ATM crypto machines in its territory has just been won by the United States. The number of crypto ATMs located in the United States increased from 4,213 in 2019 to 9,242 in 2020, which is an increase of over 50%. The United States currently accounts for approximately 79.2% of the total number of crypto ATMs worldwide.
