Travel indystry increases after providing crypto

Thanks to the cooperation with Booking.com, Travala company recorded an increase in revenue in December by over 33.5% month to month.

According to an entry published on the company's official blog on January 1, Travala also recorded a total monthly number of overnight stays booked on the site in December at 1,528, an increase of 15.2% since November. In addition, the average room price increased by more than 15%, from 115 to 133 dollars over the same period.

More than 9% of December bookings were paid for in a token reserved by Travala, AVA. In addition, 28% were paid in Bitcoin (BTC), 8% in Bitcoin Cash (BCH), 37% by credit card and PayPal, and the rest with other cryptographic assets. In total, over 60% of all bookings were paid for in crypto.

In November Travala established cooperation with the tourist accommodation booking giant, Booking.com. Since the beginning of the cooperation, the service started to enable its users to book any stay available on Booking.com with simultaneous payment on crypto.

The travel and tourism industry is increasingly accepting crypto currency to facilitate transactions in an increasingly connected and global world. In November, Alternative Airlines, a travel company based in the UK, started working with Utrust, a crypto service provider, to facilitate crypto payments.

In addition, last summer, the Scandinavian air carrier Norwegian Air announced that the company plans to launch its own crypto currency to make it easier for airlines to accept payments in crypto currency.
