Team to fight with cyber attacs on hospitals

A team of cyber security experts from 65 countries met to fight ransom attacks on hospitals during the coronavirus crisis.

Called COVID-19 CTI League, the expert community aims to protect the front-line technological infrastructure of medical resources from cyber attacks.

Hospitals around the world have seen a large increase in cyber-attacks over the past year, where critical information systems are encrypted with malware. Gangs are demanding a ransom of Bitcoins in exchange for an encryption key. Hospitals are often seen as soft targets because of their ageing IT infrastructure and willingness to pay because of the critical nature of their work.

The project founder, Ohad Zaidenberg, is based in Israel, while other members of the management team are Nate Warfield, Chris Mills and Marc Rogers, who are based in the United States.
