More people are looking for the word "Ethereum" now than ever before in its history.
Google Trends reveals that the number of current Google searches for the word "Ethereum" is at the highest level, overshadowing the interest in searching during the last run of ETH bulls.
The previous peak of popularity of "Ethereum" was on January 13, 2018, when ETH reached a record level of $1,432.88.
Although it makes sense that in the run-up to the new, ubiquitous high interest in searching for Ethereum will increase, the same cannot be said of "Bitcoin" searches, which remain at only 65% of its highest popularity on December 23, 2017.
The rise in popularity of various cryptographic terms could potentially be the cause of a self-perpetuating run as curious investors make their purchases, pushing up the price and thus arousing more interest, resulting in more searches.
Google Trends also provides data corresponding to relative interest in particular regions. Currently, the countries most interested in the term "Ethereum" are Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Nigeria and China.
