Does a pandemic involve technological development?

The Swiss non-profit blockchain industry association, the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC), believes that the crises resulting from the coronavirus pandemic have highlighted the benefits of distributed accounting technology (DLT).

With this in mind, the GBBC is working to stimulate dialogue between key decision-makers and business leaders on how DLT can 'address certain efficiency gaps and, in some cases, fundamentally change frameworks and systems in the hope of creating more secure, equitable and functional societies'.

In the short term, GBBC is working with the non-profit think tank Milken Institute and Accenture consulting firm as part of an initiative to develop global standards for the DLT sector.

Last week, GBBC welcomed to the council the Sensorium social media platform, driven by virtual reality.

As a member of the GBBC, Sensorium will participate in a number of GBBC activities aimed at "accelerating the adoption of block technology and educating regulators, decision makers and business leaders about the benefits of this technology.
