Crypto art at the auction

Osinachi, self-taught Nigerian digital artist and crypto, sold his latest work of digital art "I Can't Breathe" on 31st May for 7th Etherum (ETH), around $1,703 on the blockchain of the social network SuperRare devoted to art.

Osinachi's work reflects the violence that broke out in the American city of Mediapolis and was sold in less than six hours at auction. According to the artist, part of the income will go to a good cause. He stated that: "Part of the revenue from this NFT will go to the Black Lives Matter movement."

Osinachi was the first Nigerian artist to present his work at the Ethereal Summit in New York in 2018. He was also nominated for the Bridgeman Studio Award 2019.

Each work at SuperRare is genuinely created by the artist online. They are then supported by Ethereum blockchain in order to verify the origin and trace the entire history of the work.

The work of art has been marked as an illegible ERC-721 chip, a digital object that can be traded or invested in for the long term because it is a chip that is as unique as the work of art itself. Artists can put their works up for auction or sell them at a fixed price.
