China: breaking down barriers to the Blockchain adoption

The NEO, a project known as the 'Chinese Ethereum' and the Blockchain-based Services Network, or BSN, are joining forces to push forward the adoption of the blockchain mainstream, in accordance with the official statement of 22 July.

High barriers to entry and fragmented experience of developers are the main barriers that, according to the report, prevent mass adoption of blockchain technology.

To address these problems, BSN aims to provide a public repository of blockchain resources. The network will also seek to reduce costs associated with the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, connectivity and management of applications.

As one of the first public blockchain supported by the network, NEO claims that it will use BSN's global public urban nodes and portals to help developers overcome the obstacles and challenges that prevent their mass adoption.

NEO was established in 2014 under the name Antshares. The project changed its brand in 2017, shifting the focus to digital assets and "smart economies". NEO also acts as a platform for other blockchain projects, in particular ontologies (ONT).
