Former Republican congresswoman and current Bitcoin owner Cynthia Lummis won a seat in the United States Senate against her democratic rival Merav Ben-David.
According to Fortune's November 4 report, Lummis was an early Bitcoin (BTC) winner who first bought a crypto in 2013 with a tip from her son-in-law, Will Cole. Since December 2019, Cole has been product director at Blockchain Unchained Capital, a financial services firm.
Lummis, who defeated Ben-David 73.1% of the vote, will act as lawmaker over a state that has greatly accepted crypto-friendly institutions.
The University of Wyoming announced on November 2 that it will launch the Center for Digital Innovation and Blockchain, which will allow university students to study crypto and Blockchain technology.
