FileCoin is a decentralized storage network that is frequently cheaper, faster, and more secure than centralized cloud data storage peers such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.Global cloud data storage has rapidly expanded over the last decade and is predicted to grow at over 20% CAGR through at least 2025 according to Research and Markets.Tech consortium IPFS Union announced a $1.3 Billion investment in FileCoin mining infrastructure in China. The consortium believes they can add a Zettabyte of storage capacity.The big three of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud likely store in aggregate less than a Zettabyte of storage, yet have a market cap in aggregate of around $1.5 Trillion.I provide three valuation metrics for FileCoin which illustrate that the Coin could see an intense growth period comparable to Bitcoin. Despite its large recent run-up, the Coin looks inexpensive.
